Examinations Wing of the Controller of Examination, University of Jammu conducted a One-Day Workshop and Awareness Programme on “Manual to Online Mode: Some Transitional Aspects” for the Principals and staff of the private B.Ed and Engineering colleges. Prof. Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, the chief guest on the occasion in his address congratulated the entire Examinations Wing for developing in-house systems that are capable of providing hassle-free environment to the students. He congratulated the entire team of Computers/Exams Wing of the University of Jammu for bringing about an essential system into place that deals with the online payments.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rajni Kant, Controller of the Examinations, expressed his views about the recent developments made by the University regarding automation processes. He further stressed that time has come to move forward and do away with the manual practices being followed since time immemorial. He laid emphasis on the implementation of the designed model with immediate effect for a better transparent, efficient and institutional-cum-student friendly procedures. He lamented that the new system of online Registration of students by affiliated colleges and students will provide a paperless environment and reduce unnecessary foot-fall in the University campus.
Earlier, Prof. Rajni Dhingra – Registrar, University of Jammu in her welcome address highlighted the various progressive steps taken by the University in the recent past with regard to the online transactions. Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Director – Colleges Development Council also conveyed that a synergy needs to be created between colleges and the University with the help of online modes of transactions.
The Technical Session was conducted by Mr. Ravi Kant Verma, Programmer – Examinations Wing who presented the functioning of new online system adopted by the University. The Vice-Chancellor and Controller of examinations appreciated the efforts of Mr. Ravi Kant and his team of computer official for taking the lead in this venture. The formal proceedings of the event were carried out by Dr. Shashi Prabha, Department of Geography, University of Jammu.
Among others Prof. Darshana Sharma, Dr. Neeraj Sharma (Spl. Secy to VC), J. R. Finance, I/C Director Computer Center, Dy. Registrar, CDC, AR(Certificates), Mr. Anil Sharma – Manager J&K Bank, AR(Eval NP) and other officers/staff members of the Examinations Wing were also present on the occasion.
