JU Opens Admissions for all Students in 6th Semester after ABVP Protest in the State

Following the State wide agitation call of ABVP, which was called by ABVP State Joint Secretary Pardeep Jamwal in a press conference held tommorrow in Udhampur, today students of various colleges of different districts like Jammu, Kathua, Billawar, Udhampur, Reasi, Sunderbani, etc. under the banner of ABVP protest in their colleges demanding to open admissions in graduation 6th semester for all the students irrespect of their back logs in other semesters.
In Jammu City, students of various colleges gather at their respective campuses and marched towards the university and held dharna outside main gate of the university.
Addressing agitating students ABVP SWC Member and Jammu Mahanagar Joint Secretary Sonali Vaid said that the behavior of Jammu University is totally against the students and Jammu University has adopted dictatorship behavior regarding the admission process of 6th semester.
Due to no response from university administration for long time students got aggressive and forcefully entered the university after climbing the gate. In the protest police also lathicharged the students in which many students got injured. Among them student of MAM College and ABVP Jammu Mahanahar Joint Secretary Parteek Sharma got brutally injured and got fractures in hand.
Seeing the uncontrolled mob of agitating students in the university campus, Dean Academic Affairs revoked the earlier notification and issued a new notification which directs that all the students will be promoted to semester 6th who have given exams of semester 5th.
In Women College Gandhi Nagar protest was led by ABVP SWC Member and Mahanagar Joint Secretary Sonali Vaid, In MAM College, protest was led by ABVP Jammu Mahanagar Joint Secretary Parteek Sharma, College President Prabhu Dayal, College Secretary Rajit Rajpur, In GGM Science College protest was led by ABVP Mahanagar Office Secretary Akshay Sharma and ABVP Activist Akshay Parihar.
