Department of Students Welfare and the National Service Scheme, University of Jammu organized a Training Programmme for the volunteers to take up Swachh Bharat Mission in the identified villages – Trilokpur (Gole Gujral), Ragura (Sidhra),Darsopur (Simbal Camp). Forty volunteers attended the Training Programme.
Prof. Jasbir Singh, Chairperson, NSS Campus Units welcomed the participants and guests and gave them a brief regarding Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018 to make the country clean , pollution, garbage and defecation free by 2019. He apprised that the 100 hour experiential internship programme requires the volunteers to visit villages and conduct activities to the cause of rural sanitation in India.
Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma, Dean Students Welfare in her address called upon the volunteers to work sincerely in the villages and contribute in making a clean and healthy society by taking rich steps within the University Campus first.
Dr. Seema Rohmetra, Dr. Megna Dhar, Dr. Anju Thappa also graced the occasion. Mr Vinay Thussoo, PRO, DSW and Nodal Officer for Swachh Bharat Mission University of Jammu presented vote of thanks.
