The Students of Jammu University alleged that their genuine demands are not being heard by the authorities from last few years. After getting the autonomous control the university has started commercializing the education by introducing tuition fees and many other fee like the revaluation re-appear, examination fee, they alleged.
They further appealed to the authorities to kindly address these issues to way out toward the solution for the problems of students. The students highlighted following demands which including Free Wi-Fi Refund Wi-Fi fee collected from Students, Open the new hostels, Provide hostels to all the hostel aspirants, Start Transport facility for the students coming from; Kathua, Vijaypur Range, Akhnoor Range and R.S Pura, Bishnah Range, Increase fellowship for the Research Scholars Non-JRF to Rs.12000/-, Approve self attestation provision for every form;- Mainly for Re-Appear, Re-Evaluation, Duplicate Mark Sheet form, Migration Forms, Women Security Guards should be introduced in Jammu University Security, Build the “Wall of Heroes” in Jammu University campus as a Tribute to our Martyrs, Issues Smart Cards with 7 days after the forms are submitted by the students as there fee has already been collected, Open 24*7 canteens for Hosted and Library Students in Jammu University, Develop Recreational Hall of every Hostel, and Follow UGC recommendations on the allocation of number of scholar’s seats.
