JU wins 2nd tie in NZ Cricket

JAMMU, Dec 17:
University of Jammu (JU) today won their second match in the ongoing North Zone Inter-University Men’s Cricket Tournament, organised by MDI Rohtak in Haryana. In today’s match, JU defeated DAV Jalandhar comprehensively by eight wickets. Batting first, DAV made 120 runs in 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Aakash scored 27, Sourav and Kunal added 13 runs each. From JU, Henan Malik, Manjeet Kotwal and Jaggar Khan took two wickets each while Manpreet bagged one.
In reply, JU achieved the 121 runs target in 12.1 over losing only two wickets. Henan Malik played brilliant innings of unbeaten 82 thereby made it a one-sided affair. Jagjit contributed 19 runs to the total. From DAV, Jalandhar, Akash took one wicket. Earlier, in their opening match, JU defeated GBU Noida by 42 runs. It was again Henan Malik, batted well contributing highest 70 runs and was named man of the match. Meanwhile, the Director Sports of JU, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba congratulated the team wished them to perform their best skills in rest of the matches.
