Hundreds of leaders and activists of Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu & Kashmir gathered at Jammu Airport to receive Member of Parliament from Jammu-Udhampur Lok Sabha Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma, when the tall leader paid his first visit to the city of temples after the controversial Article 370 was scrapped on the popular demand.
BJP State President Ravinder Raina along with other senior leaders and jubiliant party workers of the state welcomed Jugal Kishore Sharma at the party headquarter. Former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, former Minister Sat Sharma, State Vice-President Rajeev Charak, Chander Prakash Ganga, Dr. DK Manyal, Sukhnandan Choudhary, former MLA Rajesh Gupta, former MLC Vikram Randhawa and other senior leaders were also present.
Party leaders and activists were seen dancing on the tunes of the traditional Dhol and distributing sweets among themselves to express their extreme happiness over the decision to remove infamous Article.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing the party leaders and workers in a programme organized at the party headquarter, said that with the strong and clear political will, we have undone the injustice. He said that the controversial Article prevented lakh of people from attaining their due rights and communities like women section, Refugees, Gujjar Bakkarwals, Valmiki Samaaj and scores of others suffered for seven decades due to the act. He said that Congress had majority in the Lok Sabha in the poast, but it was never interested to remove the injustice as it was one of the front runner agency to be blamed for the misfortune. But now ultimately the justice has prevailed and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home Minister Amit Shah has gifted way to peace and development to all of us and now it is our turn to take the task forward to progress the state on most modern lines, as we also take this opportunity to congratulate our MP Jugal Kishore Sharma for his role in the Parliament in the scrapping of the said Article.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing the jubilant party workers, blamed Congress for all the misdeeds that have been done to the J&K in the past. He said that former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru in deep friendship with former CM Sheikh Abdullah conducted scores of such decisions that proved suicidal for the development and peace in the state. The ill willed decisions of Pt. Nehru of Sheikh resulted in the birth of separatism, terrorism and PoJK and we today also strongly resolve that we will take back, what was rightfully ours. He maintained that many persons laid down their lives for the abrogation of the Article 370 and we dedicate this day to their ultimate sacrifices. I believe myself to be lucky enough that I got a chance to vote for the abrogation of Article 370 and thank people of Jammu-Poonch as they gave me this power with their votes, ecstatic Jugal added.
Earlier, Jugal Kishore Sharma also paid tributes to Shyama Prassad Mukherjee and Pt. Prem Nath Dogra in the party headquarter.
State Secretary Sanjay Baru, District Presidents Ayodhya Gupta, Omi Khajuria, Baldev Billawaria, Jangbir Singh, BJYM State President Vikas Choudhary, Kissan Morcha State President Rajinder Singh Chib, former MLA Gharu Ram, Satish Sharma, Tilak Raj Gupta, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Prem Gupta, Kulbhushan Mohtra, Jeet Angral, Ankush Mahajan, Jugal Dogra, Virender Kuchroo, Brijesh Gupta and other senior party leaders were also present on the occasion.
