In a joint installation ceremony, the Rotary Club of Jammu City (RCJC) installed Rtn. K.B.Magotra as President and Rtn. Sandeep Beri as Secretary of the Club for the year 2018-19 in a grand ceremony organised here on Wednesday.
Similarly, Rtn. Gurvinder Kaur was installed as President and Rtn. Ritika Mahajan as the Secretary of Rotary Club of Jammu Elite. The new Presidents were installed by Rtn. Sunil Nagpal, District Governor Elect (2019-20), Rotary District 3070. Former Deputy Chief Minster Kavinder Gupta was the Chief Guest of the Ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the new Presidents assured to carry forward all the projects undertaken by the outgoing team. Rtn. Sunil Nagpal, District Governor Elect congratulated the respective Clubs for their excellent track record and hoped that these Clubs would achieve new heights with the new team of office bearers. He assured that the Clubs will have full support of the District in all the programmes undertaken by them.
Kavinder Gupta, MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister, who is also Honorary Member of Rotary Club of Jammu City, lauded the exemplary work done by RCJC in mitigating the sufferings of the people at the lowest rung of the society. He said that he has personally witnessed the good work done by RCJC over the years and he will continue to support all activities of the Club in future also.
Rtn. Anil Swaraj, the Immediate Past President, highlighted the work done by the Club in the past and thanked all members of the Club for their tireless efforts and unflinching support in serving the cause of humanity at large. Similarly, outgoing President of Rotary Club of Jammu Elite Rtn. Nupur Sandhu thanked the office bearers and members of her Club for extending their full support to her during her tenure. Awards for exemplary performance were given away on the occasion to the members of the two Clubs.
Earlier, a Tree Plantation Programme was organised by Rotary Club of Jammu City and Rotary Club of Jammu Elite at Tawi Bank Park near Ware House in which Kavinder Gupta, MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister and Rtn. Barjesh Singhal, District Governor 2018-19 participated. Over 50 tree saplings were planted in a bid to enhance the green cover in Jammu city and reduce the environmental pollution.
Prominent personalities who attended both the programmes included Lt. Gen. P.S.Mehta, Rtn. Davinder Singh (Governor Nominee), Maj. Gen. J.D.S.Bedi, Rtn. K.K.Dhir, Rtn. U.S.Ghai, Brig. Harcharan Singh, Rtn. R.K.Handa, Arvind Sharma, Rtn. Vijay Sehdev, Rtn.Manoj Kumar (Palampur), Rtn.Surinder Kumar (Jalandhar) Members of the Rotary Club of Samba led by Rtn. Col.S.S.Sambyal and members of the Rotary Club of Sunder Nagar led by their President Rtn. Parveen Sharma.
Rtn Robin Mehta, Rtn. Sanjeev Vaid, Rtn Sanjay Bansal, Rtn Gurdev Singh Sodhi, Rtn. Arun Ninawat, Rtn. Mayank Vaid, Rtn. Deepali Sharma, Rtn.Dr. Sahul Lerra, Rtn.Arun Sabharwal, Rtn. Prashant Singh, Rtn. Sundeep Bhat, Rtn.Sourabh Sethi, Rtn. Ankita Sethi, Rtn.Rajni Vaid, Rtn. Harvinder Pal Singh and Rtn.Navshesh were also present on the occasion, among others.
Rtn. Ravinder Kaul presented the Welcome Address and Rtn Adeep Mehta and Rtn. Sonia Anand efficiently conducted the proceedings of the programme.
