“Kali Doop” Hindi Play Presents by Triple “A” Performing Arts on concluding of Drama Festival

On the concluding day of the Drama Festival, Rajnesh Gupta Hindi play “Kali Doop” was performed by Triple “A” Performing Arts Reasi here today at NHPC Auditorium Salal (Jyotipuram) Reasi, on District Drama Festival Reasi / Udhampur being organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and was jointly directed by Poonam & Parveen Akhtar. On the occasion of concluding function Sh. Suchit Tyagi Sr. Commandant CISF Jyotipuram was the chief guest while Mrs Usha Jamwal eminent Cultural activitest was Preside over and Smt Sushma Tyagi renowned theatre personality artist from New Delhi was the special guest. The artist who performed in the play were Mr Deepak Singh as Parmod, Poonam Rani as Savitri, Mohd Umer Qureshi as Raju. The supporting artists of backstage, Music by Kamal Chandpuri and Raja Aamir Khan , Set Designed by Parveen Akhtar, Make up by Raja Aamir Khan, Costumes by Tabraz Khan, Lights by Shadab and Neeraj Kesar, Property by Rashad Khan and Rekha Devi as Production Manager.
The Play “Kali Doop” extracts the inner feelings and emotions of those parents who are living a gloomy and wretched life as their children’s have been settled in abroad countries and they are bound to wait for them for a unknown period.
Now a day, the life has become too fast and mechanical that even every youth wants to earn more and more. They have no value of passion, emotions and relation. They have become cold blooded to such an extent that they do not bother whether their parents are living a happy or frustrate life behind them.
Parmod and Savitri are an old aged couple. Their son, Raju went to foreign when he had just completed his degree of engineering. There he fell in love with a foreign lady and she also gave birth to a male child.
Raju has come to his parents in India after a long span of fifteen years and that too for his business concern. Parmod and Savitri left no stone unturned in the warm welcome of their son, but Raju does not pay heed to all of it and asked someone on the phone that ‘ the old man has gone mad.’
On that dark night parmod and Savitri are very tense and depressed as Raju has to return to foreign country next morning. Parmod and Savitri decide to kill each other. So that Raju may perform all the rituals of the funeral process of their dead bodies with own hands, but a skirmish arises when Savitri compels parmod to kill her first and parmod compels vice versa. Ultimately, they decide to consume poison at the same time. So that no one of them does not remain alive to see the dead body of another.
Savitri has poison in her hand and in the poison, she seen the picture of his son calling her “Mother, Mother” He starts crying and laughing the expressions of savitri come and fade always.
Savitri throws the poison in her hands as well as in the hand of parmod. She ask parmod why they are going to die for that man who has no value of his parents. He has no time to speak with them. He is happy with his family in abroad. Why to die for that creature who is a human being without any sentiment or pathos.
Chief Guest Mr. Suchit Tyagi spoke on the occasion that the efforts of the Triple “A” Performing Arts and its artists for staging a commendable performance as it depicts the picture of old age problems and those children working outside country and not care their parents properly. Others who presented on the occasion included R.K Gupta, Raj Rahee, Rajesh Ajnabi, Shadab Khan,Neeraj Kesar witnessed the play. Dr. Kamal Sharma, J. R.Sagar & Bodh Raj Vardan was the Jury member. Dr Sudhir Mahajan Sr. Drama Instructor JKAACL was the over all In charge of the festival.
