Katrina Kaif, hailed as one of Bollywood’s most hardworking actresses, delved into her approach to selecting roles in the wake of her recent film, Merry Christmas. Despite the disappointment at the box office, the movie showcased an evolved portrayal of Katrina as an actress, notably opposite South Indian star Vijay Sethupathi. In an interview with Variety, Katrina articulated her evolving criteria for film choices, emphasizing a balance between audience appeal and personal fulfilment. She asserted, “I’ve always put the audiences first… It’s about finding a balance, what story do I feel is going to connect with the audience? And what do I connect to personally and as an actor right now? What’s going to give me growth? What’s going to give me satisfaction? This is just exactly what I want to be doing right now.”Reflecting on her cinematic journey, Katrina reminisces about her debut in the South Indian film industry with the Telugu romcom Malliswari in 2004. From there, she gradually accrued on-camera experience, navigating her way through meetings with directors and producers. Despite initial success in the modelling industry, Katrina’s passion ultimately laid in the world of cinema.
