Former Deputy Chief Minister & Senior BJP, Kavinder Gupta met Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, Finance Minister, Sudhir Mungattiwar and Jai Kumar Rawal, Tourism Minister of Maharashtra Government at their respective residences today.
Pertinent to mention here that Kavinder Gupta is in Mumbai since 31st August to attend programs and meet eminent personalities from business community and bollywood stars as part of the party’s contact and public awareness programme to reach out to leading members of the society over the Centre’s move to revoke provisions of Article 370. The BJP has embarked on a month-long ‘Sampark and Janjagran Abhiyan’ exercise to seek people’s support on the decision to end Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370 of the Constitution, with its leaders and workers asked to fan out across the country to hold meetings. Gupta addressed many programs organized in Mumbai on the issue and stressed that, Now Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh is free from all confusions due to provision of Article 370. Now since the article 370 has been revoked and the region need investment from the leading business players in every sector so that the employment is generated for the local youth and the glory of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh is restored with the modern amenities and infrastructure. He said due to the strong leadership at Centre under Prime Minister Modi, we have achieved the goal of “ek vidhan – ek Nishan’. While meeting with the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, Finance Minister, Sudhir Mungattiwar Tourism Minister, Jai Kumar Rawal, Gupta discussed several issues related to the development of J&K post abrogation of article 370. He said that the state has suffered both economically and emotionally due to some serious mishandling of issues since independence and now the time has changed and the people have understood that violence in no way can be the answer to any problem. Gupta briefed the Chief Minister regarding the present situation of the Kashmir valley and extended invitation to visit the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He also urged him to promote and extend his support for motivating the tourists to visit J&K through promotional events and to motivate Business houses to invest in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. He said J&K is moving steadfast in the direction of development and has lot of potential in the tourism and industrial sectors but need the investors to invest and create employment. Chief Minister assured Gupta that he shall personally take interest for the investment in J&K and further said we would be planning investment very soon. Tourism Minister assured Gupta that investment worth several crores are made in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and as a start he announced two resorts one each in Srinagar and Ladakh with initial investment of 2 crores.
