Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today inaugurated newly constructed office complex of J&K State Water Resources Regulatory Authority (J&KSWRRA) at Satwari.
Spreading over 6 kanals of land, the double storey complex constructed at a cost of Rs 5.64 crore has 650 Sq Mtr plinth and 1350 Sq. M covered area. The spacious complex comprising of 16 rooms, conference hall, multipurpose halls have been equipped with all modern facilities. Besides large space for parking, there is separate transformer, tube well and DG set for the complex.
The speaker said that the focus is being laid on the infrastructural development in all the sectors. He said that various micro and mega projects have been completed and work on some of them is underway. He said that completion of SWRRA complex is one among them.
Sham Choudhary said that the government is working on creation of better infrastructure for the employees, saying that various projects have been taken up under different sectors for the betterment of employees. He said that newly constructed complex equipped with required facilities has adequate space to accommodate offices of J&K SWRRA and allied offices. He said that congenial atmosphere in complex would also help in improving the working condition and increasing the efficacy of employees.
The Minister inaugurated lanes and drains at village Chakroi constructed at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh from Satpal’s house to onwards.
The dignitaries were briefed about the salient features of the complex. They also went round and inspected the facilities available in the complex.
Among others, Chairperson, J&K State Water Resources Regulatory Authority Parmod Jain, Chief Engineers, PHE and Irrigation and Flood Control Jammu, large number of senior engineers of the departments and prominent citizens of the area were also present on the occasion.
Later, Sham Choudhary convened a Public grievances-cum-redressal camp at R S Pura in which dozens of deputations and scores of individuals from Suchetgarh Constituency met with the Minister and projected demands relating to developmental need of their areas.
Giving a patient hearing to the projected demands, the Minister assured that their genuine demands would be addressed on priority.
