Health check-up camp & Dengue awareness program today organized at Anganwadi Centre, Pindi Khurd in association with Health and Wellness Centre Kudwal to promote community health and wellbeing by Dr. Gyaneshwar Sharma. The services of general health check-up, Dengue screening, blood pressure screening, blood sugar testing, nutrition counseling and dengue awareness session provided on the occasion.
The objective of awareness programme was to educate all attendees about the symptoms and risks of Dengue, Prevention strategies, including eliminating mosquito breeding sites and using protective measures and the importance of early detection and timely treatment.
This initiative was supported by Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and the local health department, ensuring a collaborative approach to community health.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gyaneshwar Sharma said that Dengue is the fastest spreading vector-borne disease in the world and many people are affected by this disease in India at present. Especially in villages due to lack of awareness many people suffer because of this disease and to create awareness amongst people, this programme was organized. The main reason and causes for the spread of Dengue was conveyed to people in details. Dr. Gyaneshwar Sharma said that mosquitoes are the main cause of this disease and he insisted that keeping the surroundings clean is the only way to get away from Dengue. He also asked the people to clear the unnecessary wastes that were dumped near their houses.
Dr. Gyaneshwar Sharma educated about the types of mosquitoes and explained the people with the help of videos and power point presentations.
This helped people to understand better. He also clearly explained about how to approach doctors when the people are suffering with Dengue.
He also said that proper medication will cure this disease and asked the villagers to immediately consult doctors if they have fever for more than three days.
Dr. Gyaneshwar Sharma advised the children and elderly people to be cautious always.
He asked the people not to take self-medications without consulting a doctor. This awareness programme helped the villagers to learn about Dengue and they promised to keep their surrounding clean for a Dengue-less community.
