A meeting was held by Shiv Sena Hindustan under the chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir President Pandit Rajesh Kesri at Marol Block Arnia in which the drug smuggling going on in all the districts of Jammu and border areas was discussed. Speaking in the meeting, Kesri said that the young generation of Jammu district is becoming more and more affected by drugs menace. Every day a youth is dying due to overdose of drugs in funeral pyre . Kesri further said that at hospital in Resham Ghar area of Jammu, medicines are given to get rid of the intoxication of the body, but the people who sell the drug, they stand in a queue to take the medicine and after coming out, they sold it to the drug addicts at cheap prices. This is a very big racket, we want the government to pay attention, added Kesri. Kesri observed that due to the strictness in the border area, drug peddlers are now turning towards the cities. A few days ago, a young man in Shalamar area lost his life after consuming overdose.
He requested the government that in order to protect precious there should be more deployment of police officers to have proper cognizance of this. People from all the agencies should be kept 24 hours alert in this area because instead of being a hospital, it is becoming a den of drugs. It is a matter of concern that when young people lose their lives due to drugs, it is a great shock to the heart that these young people were eligible to join the police but due to drug abuse, these handsome and tall children are in the grip of death. For this, we should also let the parents of the children and the people of the street to play their part and also support the police so that these drug smugglers and drug peddlers can be caught and we can save our young generation. In an attempt to combat growing drug abuse and its adverse impact on the young generation, the Jammu and Kashmir police have initiated Mission clean-up using ‘human intelligence’ to target drug traffickers and other anti-social elements and the need of hour is to strengthen mission.Kesri appreciated the drive which has been launched utilizing human intelligence, including youth—both male and female—having previously struggled with drug addiction. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Balveer Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Balwant Fauji, Dheeraj Kumar, Balveer Kumar, Rajkumar Baba, Sanjeev Sharma, Darshana Devi, Garo Devi, Rajni Devi, Neeru Devi, Suresh Kumar etc.
