Shiv Sena Hindustan activists led by J&K President Pt Rajesh Kesri today held strong demonstration at Cool Kalyan against the Irrigation Department for not maintaining irrigation canals. Kesri, while speaking against the irrigation department, said that when department starts getting canals cleaned with JCB , the banks of canals get broken and when the canal passes through the village settlement then in the rainy season or when the water in canal is released then due to broken banks ,the canal water entrs residential areas and the whole settlement gets polluted.
Kesri further said that the irrigation canal which passes through Cool Kalayan village due to broken banks, all the water enters into the village settlement. Due to which people get troubled, it becomes difficult for the children to go to school in the morning, they cannot leave the house because the water bursts so much in the village that people have to take off their clothes, put them on their shoulders and take out the shoes with their hands, many times. Children’s books get wet in water.
Kesri said that repeated efforts were made to make the government pay attention to this burning issue, but the concern to hoodwink gullible people take eyewash action which later on causes immense hardships for locals as when the situation gets worse none from concerned department pays any visit to listen to grievances of locals.
He requested the government to pay attention to the border areas as soon as possible because these people have already suffered a lot and they do not have many resources, hence the government should repair the canal as soon as possible. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Balveer Kumar, Suresh Kumar Rania ,Balwant Saini, Rajesh Kumar, Dheeraj Kumar, Ghara Ram Captain Om Prakash Darshana Devi Suman Devi Neeru Devi Rajni Devi Vijay Kumari Surjit Kumar, Bhajanlal, Ramdas ,Ram Data ,Jagjivan Singh besides others.
