Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Jhiri won the boys 17-19 year Volleyball title in the ongoing Khelo-India competition of Block Marh, organised by district administration in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), at GHSS Marh, here.
In the final, GHSS Jhiri defeated Toofan Club. Meanwhile, in boys’ cricket event, MRLD beat Springdales by three runs in under-12 year age category. In under-16 age group, GHSS Marh outplayed GHSS Gold Gujral by 13 runs.

Earlier, the competition was declared open by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Marh, Sarita Bhagat.
JOURIAN ZONE: Government Higher Secondary School Pargwal won the boys 13-16 year age group Volleyball title outplaying GHSS Jourian in straight 2-0 sets in the final of the Khelo India meet of Jourian Zone. Competition in boys 13-16 year and 17-19 year also took place and on the basis of performance teams were selected for next round of the competition. The competition held under the supervision of organising secretary and ZPEO Jourian, Jaswant Singh Manhas. The technical penal comprised Romesh Chander, Chander, Ashwani, Vijay Kumar, Prmila Manhas and Ganesh Sharma.
SATWARI ZONE: Two-day zonal level sports meet (finals) of Satwari zone in boys section held under Khelo India at Government High School Jammu Cantonment today. The Results: Volleyball: 6-12 year: Government Middle School Upper Gadigarh beat Government High School Sohanjana 2-0. 13-16 year: People Academy HSS beat Government High School Raipur Satwari 2-0. 17-19 year: GHSS Mandal beat Wazir Janki Nath School 2-0. KABADDI: 17-19 year: GHSS Mandal beat Shiksha Niketan HSS 22-16. 13-16 year: Government High School Jammu Cantonment beat GHSS Sure Chak 20-13. 6-12 year: Government Middle School Bhure Chak beat GMS Mandal 20-10. Kho-Kho: 17-19 year: GHSS Mandal beat Bhour Champ HSS 12-03. GHS Sher Garh beat GHS Old Satwari 10-05. The technical penal comprised Hardev Singh, Puspinder, Sunita Kumari, Gurpreet Kour, Vishal Mangotra, Harminder Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Gaurav Sharma, Rajesh, Ravinder Singh, Harpreet Bhalla Rajiv Kumar and Rohaniat.
