DDC lays foundation stone of tourism projects
KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 02: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today inaugurated newly constructed 100 bedded girls hostel building here at Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Sarthal (under -RMSA).
He also laid foundation stones for construction of Tourist Reception Center Part-II (Under- PMRP) at Sarthal and Tourist Cafeteria at Kishtwar.
The inaugural ceremony of the Girls Hostel was attended by ADDC , Mohammad Hanief Malik, ADC , Pawan Kumar Parihar, CEO, Kuldeep Kumar, XEN KDA Gh Nabi Ahanger, Dy. CEO, Rajinder Sen, AEE PWD (R&B) Syed Ajaz, Sapranchs, Panchs, locals, besides concerned officers.
The 100 bedded girls hostel building at Girls Higher Secondary School, Sarthal (under-RMSA) has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.82 crore by PWD (R&B) Department. The building comprises of 30 rooms, one dining hall, one kitchen block and bathrooms besides other amenities.
The DDC stated that, 100 bedded girls hostel building at Girls Higher Secondary School, Sarthal (under -RMSA) will give major fillip to female education as major section of girls in past have to leave their education midway due to non-availability of residential facilities.
He asked the CEO Kishtwar to ensure cleanliness and due maintenance of the girls hostel.
The DDC congratulated the people for the Tourist Reception Center Part-II (Under- PMRP) at Sarthal and Tourist Cafeteria at Kishtwar being constructed by Kishtwar Development authority (KDA). He hoped that the assets will help in boosting the tourism sector in the district.
Meanwhile, the DDC met with the fire victims of Sarthal and assured to provide every possible help to them.
While interacting with PRI members, locals he asked them to join hands and extend their full support and co-operation to the government for achieving sustainable development at grassroots level.
