SRINAGAR, Jany 07:
District Kupwara Wushu Association has renewed their appeal to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for setting up a Khelo India Centre or an Academy for Wushu so as to tap the budding talent from the rural areas.
The district unit of the Association was assured of positive development by both the J&K Sports departments, J&K Sports Council (JKSC) and the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).”While the district officer of the DYSS had forwarded a proposal to the Directorate for setting up a Khelo India Centre, the JKSC Secretary had written to the Commissioner Secretary to Government endorsing our plea for the training facility,” said general secretary of the District Kupwara Wushu Association, Ajaz Ahmad Pala.Though the Government has slowed down on its decision to establish a Wushu Academy or Khelo India Centre at the district, the talented stuff may get dejected. “We want the J&K Government to clear the stand on advance training facility in the district at the earliest,” added Ajaz Ahmad.
