Jammu, SEPT 19:
Senior BJP leader and contesting candidate from Jammu West Assembly constituency, Arvind Gupta said that lacking the roadmap for J&K’s better future, both Congress and the National Conference have made restoration of statehood as their poll plank, which is totally irrelevant because the BJP Government has already made it clear that after the Assembly polls it will grant statehood back to J&K.
In a statement issued to media persons, the senior BJP leader said that the alliance partners seem to be unsure on other issues which are significant for ensuring the better future of J&K therefore they have made statehood restoration their main poll plank. He said that when the top leadership of BJP has in principle given nod for restoration of statehood to J&K after the Assembly polls then the unnecessary clamour by these political entities over this non-issue is testimony to fact that they don’t have anything constructive for the people of the region and therefore these parties are raking up this non-issue to take credit soon after the BJP will announce its decision on the matter which it has taken long back.
Arvind questioned that instead these parties should clear their stand on how they can fight terrorism, which in reality is their gift to the people of the region? He said Congress should also clear its stand on Article 370, whether it wanted the same to be revived like its Alliance partner or has some other ideas over the issue?
The senior BJP leader said that the alliance which is in place is nothing but the marriage of convenience and a last attempt to grab the power. He said that the people are well aware of the misdemeanors committed by these parties in the past and therefore none of their gimmicks or tantrums will work in J&K.
Arvind asserted that the upcoming elections present a crucial opportunity for the people of J&K to make a decisive choice. The nationalist BJP Government stands ready to lead the region towards a future of peace and progress. Under this administration, J&K will embark on a journey towards a prosperous and dignified life for its citizens, with the Tricolor held high as a symbol of unity and pride, he added.
Earlier, the senior BJP leader conducted several public meetings, including those in Ward No. 33, Ranjeetpur, Spring Blossom Public School, Sakkar Saab Ashram, near the J&K Bank ATM in Bakshi Nagar, and Rehari. He also carried out a door-to-door campaign near Om Palace, Shakti Nagar.
During these events, he sought the people’s mandate and shared his vision to serve the public and address their issues if elected. He urged support of people of Jammu West in the upcoming Assembly polls. “Your vote is pivotal in ensuring that J&K is governed by leaders committed to genuine progress and national integrity. Let us stand together to usher in a new era of stability and development. Vote for the BJP to secure a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
