Lagan Society for Art and Culture (Regd.) organized 5th Basant Utsav (Bhajan S andhya on Basant Panchmi) at Writer’s Club, Abhinav Theatre Complex, here today with enthusiasm.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities from various walks of life, was a surrounding success, leaving the audience enthralled with soulful performances and heartfelt tributes to Indian music and culture.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG, Jammu as the Chief Guest.
The function was presided over by Padma Shri Dr. S. P. Varma, while renowned writer and composer Yashpal Yash adorned the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome extended by Executive Member Sonia Dogra followed by mesmerizing performances of young child artists whose innocence and melodious renditions captivated the hearts of all present.
A series of soulful bhajans by renowned artists such as Jyotsana Dogra, Akash Sangral, Parmita Sharma, Lagan Verma, Aditya Sharma, Sarthak Verma, Shingarika Malhotra , Advaita Verma, Ruhan Jain, Adhaan Jain, Ayushman Bhardwaj and Kritika Chowdhary kept the audience spellbound.
The musical ensemble featured Mr. Prince Bhatti on the keyboard, Amit Anand on the Tabla, and Nilesh Sharma on the guitar, adding depth and harmony to the performances.
In his address, Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG, Jammu lauded the exceptional talent showcased by the young artists and commended President of the society, Rajesh Kumar Verma for his tireless efforts in channelizing the creative energies of the youth towards music.
Padma Shri Dr. S. P. Varma, in his inspiring speech, urged the younger generation to embrace perseverance and remain steadfast in preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.
The evening concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Rajesh Kumar Verma, who expressed gratitude to the esteemed guests, the media, and all the artists whose contributions made the event a grand success.
On the occasion, Girdhari Lal (General Secretary, LSAC), Shubham Manmar (IT Incharge, LSAC), Rohit Bains (Publicity Secretary, LSAC), Dr. Atyant Shobna Sharma (Advisor, LSAC), Sunil Mahajan (Advisor, LSAC), Lokesh Chander (Member Executive, LSAC), Asha Kesar, Uttam Singh Uttam, Ashok Khajuria were present.
The proceedings of the Bhajan Sandhya were anchored by Nirupama Jamwal. The program concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, followed by a tea session for the guests.
