Law Enforcement Wing conducts inspections of Agri-input Centres across Jammu and Samba

The Law Enforcement Wing of the Department of Agriculture, Jammu & Kashmir, today carried out rigorous inspections and checking at various agri-input distribution centres across Jammu and Samba districts.
The inspection was conducted under the direction and supervision of Mr. Kuldeep Singh, Assistant Director Law Enforcement (ADLE) Jammu.
Enforcement Inspector Jammu, Mr. Nazish Altaf, led detailed inspections in different areas of Jammu district, particularly in R.S. Pura and Marh blocks, while Enforcement Inspector Samba, Mr. Yog Raj Sharma, conducted inspections in the Ramgarh area of Samba district.
The rigorous inspections across Jammu district, particularly in R.S. Pura and Marh blocks were conducted by Enforcement Inspector Mr. Nazish Altaf under the overall direction and supervision of Kuldeep Singh, Assistant Director Law Enforcement (ADLE) Jammu. In addition, inspections were also carried out in the Ramgarh area of Samba district by Enforcement Inspector Mr. Yog Raj Sharma.
The primary objective of the exercise was to ensure effective implementation of the Seed Act, 1966, Insecticides (Pesticides) Act, 1968, and Fertilizer (Control) Order, 1985 (FCO 1985). The initiative aimed to uphold the quality standards of agricultural inputs, prevent malpractices, and safeguard the interests of the farming community.
During the inspections, samples of pesticides, seeds, and fertilizers were lifted for laboratory analysis.
In addition, all relevant documents including licenses, sale and purchase bills, stock registers, and fertilizer sale records through POS machines were thoroughly scrutinized to verify compliance with the statutory provisions.
Certain irregularities were detected during the inspection process, following which necessary actions were initiated against the concerned dealers. The defaulters were cautioned and warned of stringent measures in case of any further violations of the laid-down norms.
