Protesting Dharmarth Trust employees on Tuesday asked Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to constitute a Board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
The employees gathered at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple and staged a strong demonstration.
As the protest entered the 106th day and chain hunger strike at 79th day, hundreds of employees, including women, continued their ‘dharna’ at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple and raised slogans against the J&K government and Dharmarth Trust management.
Making an appeal to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to concede their demands, the employees stated that they are pinning their hopes on him for redressal of their issue.
Employees demanding shrine board for all temples under Dharmarth Trust and CBI enquiry of land scandals done by Dharmarth Trust management for the last 60 years.
They said that corrupt practices of the self styled trustee and council members were responsible to malign Dharmarth Trust image.
The protesting employees appealed to all social and political organization to come forward for saving the dying heritage of Dogra culture especially historical temples so the tourist sector will flourish in J&K.
The persons who sat on hunger strike today included Vimla Devi, Jeeto Devi, Sushma Devi, Asha Rani, Jyoti Rajput, Yash Paul, Bimla Devi, Leela Jamwal, Padhu and Yash Paul.
Among others present in the strike, included president Vivek Bandral Ex-President Kernail Chand Thakur, ex-General Secretary, Pritam Sharma, Sunit Sharma, Subash, Pt Parshotam, Pt Brijmohan Sharma, Pt Om Parkash, Pt Rampal, Pt Balwant Shastri, Vimal Khajuria, Sat Paul, Pawan, Deepu, Rinku, Makhnu, Jivan, Bushan, Sonali, Renu, Anju, Sheetal, Sonika, Sukeshni, Rita Salathia, Rekha, Harbans Lal, Surjeet Singh, Parshotam Sharma, Ram Paul Sharma, Jagjeet Chand, Sahil Sharma, Pt Babu Bishambar Lal, Reeta Salathia, Raj Kumari, Leela Devi, Sheetal, Rajani, Nisha and Sonika.
