Rana Daggubati’s upcoming film Virata Parvam is in the last leg of production. There are only eight days of shooting left to be completed. Over 50 per cent of the shooting has been done in the forests of Vikarabad, Warangal and in Kerala. And there were some electrifying moments during that time.
While shooting in a Kerala forest a couple of months back, the unit had a lucky escape. The crew had packed up for the day and were just about to return to their hotel when they heard the sound of trumpeting elephants. Within a few seconds, they saw a herd of about 20 wild elephants charging towards them.
“It was extremely scary”, says a source from the unit. “We left all the equipment and props, and ran for our lives. We ran for about half a kilometre without looking back.”
Apparently, elephants are known to frequent that area after 6 p.m. It was indeed a lucky escape.
Sai Pallavi and the film’s director Venu Udugula were at the location when the incident took place. “However, Rana had left the site just a bit earlier,” adds the source.
