The Sadguru of Sahib Bandagi Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj, while delighting the congregation with the nectar of his discourses at Mishriwala Jammu today, said that both sin and virtue are fetters. One of iron and one of gold. Both kinds of fetters bind. The soul has no connection with the karma even remotely. Who is getting the karma done? Sahib is saying that the power itself gets the karma done and itself gives the punishment in the form of pain. All the karmas are done by the mind. First of all, the resolution arises. Suppose, the mind says that it wants to visit Mumbai. First this wave arises. Everyone is flowing in the waves of the mind and no one is able to understand these waves.
The soul is beyond both good and bad karmas. First the resolution arises that it wants to visit Mumbai. If the soul is out of the resolution option, then it means that the resolution is being generated by someone else. The mind is deciding whether there is money to travel or not. The soul is just giving energy. If the soul does not give energy, then the plan of travelling is over. Sahib is saying that if the mind goes, let it go, but hold on to the body. Do not go from the body.
Then the mind will not be able to do anything. Energy belongs to the soul. Sahib called the soul a swan. O swan, give up the hope of action. That is why Sahib did not establish Karma Yoga. He did not establish Gyan Yoga either. Sahib spoke of Surati Yoga. The five physical body does not belong to the soul. It belongs to the five physical elements. Sahib said that O swan, this cage is not yours. Tamas and Rajas feelings arise in it. This is done by the mind. This is not the soul. When Tamas feelings arise, a man commits sinful acts. When Rajas feelings arise, a man tries to get bodily pleasures. The mind makes us do all this. The soul has no connection with action and neither can the soul commit sinful acts. Being a part of God, the soul is pure. It cannot commit sinful acts. You can think that then some evil force is making us commit these sinful acts. There is a lot of trouble inside. Demons in the form of lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego are sitting and taking us towards sin and then pain is given to the soul.
