Mumbai : State Water Resource Minister Girish Mahajan on Friday found himself in an embarrassing situation on Friday, as a video showing him posing for selfies and smiling and waving cheerfully at crowds during his tour of flood-affected areas went viral.The video shot apparently by one of the members in Mahajan;s entourage during his tour of the flood-affected areas of Kolhapur drew sharp criticism from the Opposition. State NCP chief Jayant Patil and Swabhimani Paksha president Raju Shetti came down heavily on Mahajan for what they called the minister’s “flood tourism”.“It is shameful that in a severe flood situation like the one we are facing in the state, a senior BJP minister is indulging in such frivolous acts like taking selfies and waving at people. The whole purpose of undertaking tour of flood-affected areas is defeated,” Shetti said.
