Prayagraj, Dec 13 :
Describing the Maha Kumbh, going to start from January 13 next year in Prayagraj, as a great sacrifice of unity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said this event associated with religious faith will take the spiritual and cultural identity of the country to new heights.
Modi inspected the preparations of the Maha Kumbh, which is going to start exactly a month from Friday, from a cruise and inaugurated 167 projects worth Rs 5,700 crore. Before this, he offered prayers to Maa Ganga and bowed his head at the mythological places.
On this occasion, while addressing a public meeting, he said that such a big event of the world is ready to welcome and serve lakhs of devotees every day. This mega event, which will continue for 45 consecutive days, is going to create a new history on this land of Prayagraj.
He said that the organisation of Maha Kumbh next year will establish the cultural and spiritual identity of the country to new heights. If he has to describe this Maha Kumbh in one sentence, then it will be such a great sacrifice of unity, which will be discussed all over the world.
He said, “I wish for the grand and divine success of this event. India is a country of holy pilgrimage sites. It is a country of countless holy rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, Kaveri and Narmada. The purity of the flow of these rivers, the importance and greatness of these pilgrimage sites, their confluence, their yoga, their combination, their influence, their glory, this is Prayag. It is believed that when the Sun enters Capricorn, all the divine powers, all the pilgrimage sites, Maharshi come to Prayag. The Puranas are not complete without the influence of this place. Prayagraj is the place which has been praised by the authors of Vedas.’
PM Modi said, “When there were no modern means of communication, events like Kumbh had laid the foundation for big social changes. In Kumbh, saints and wise people used to discuss the joys and sorrows of the society together, and reflect on the present and the future. Even today, the significance of big events like Kumbh is the same. Such events send a positive message to every corner of the country, society, country, the stream of national thinking flows continuously. He said that this great festival related to faith was not given attention by the previous governments. Devotees kept suffering but the previous governments were careless because they did not have attachment to faith but
Maha Kumbh 2025 great
the double engine government of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is a government that respects Indian culture. The double engine government considers it its responsibility to provide facilities to the devotees coming to Kumbh. Special attention has been given to connectivity so that there is no problem in reaching Kumbh from any corner of the country and the world.”
He said that our government has focused on enriching the heritage along with development. Pilgrimage sites are being developed through Ramayana Circuit, Shri Krishna Circuit, Tirthankar Circuit and Swadesh Darshan Yojana. Shri Ram Mandir has made the entire Ayodhya city grand.”
Modi said that instead of any external system, Kumbh is the name of the consciousness of the inner soul of man. This consciousness awakens automatically. This consciousness draws people from every corner of India to the banks of Sangam. People from villages, towns and cities set out towards Prayagraj. Such power of collectivity, such a gathering is rarely seen anywhere else. Here, saints, sages, wise men, common people all become one, all take a dip in the Triveni together. Here the difference of castes ends, the conflict of sects disappears. Crores of people get connected with one goal, one thought.”
He said, “It has been said about Prayag: ‘Magh Makargat Rabi Jab Hoi. Tirthapati Aav Sab Koi.’ That is, when the Sun enters Capricorn, all the divine powers, all the pilgrimages, all the sages, Maharishi come to Prayag. This is the place without whose influence the Puranas are not complete. Prayagraj is the place, which has been praised in the verses of the Vedas. Maha Kumbh is a sacred and living symbol of the cultural, spiritual journey of our country going on for thousands of years. It is an event where every time there is a divine confluence of religion, knowledge, devotion and art. That is why I say once again that this Maha Kumbh is a great sacrifice of unity. In which every kind of discrimination is sacrificed. Every Indian who takes a dip in the confluence here presents a wonderful picture of one India – the best India.”
The PM said that the spiritual and cultural power emanating from the Maha Kumbh will strengthen our resolve. “We wish that humanity would benefit from the Triveni. He said that cleanliness plays a very important role in making a grand and divine event like Kumbh successful. For the preparations of the Maha Kumbh, the Namami Gange program has been taken forward rapidly, the focus has been on the sanitation and waste management of Prayagraj city. Gangadoot, Ganga Prahari and Ganga Mitras have been appointed to make people aware. This time more than 15 thousand of my sanitation workers’ brothers and sisters are going to take care of the cleanliness of Kumbh. Today, I also express my gratitude in advance to my sanitation workers brothers and sisters engaged in the preparations of Kumbh.”
