Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West Constituency today visited the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Gole Gujral and the Government Girls High School Gole Gujral and took stock of the facilities being provided to students.
During his visit, he also interacted with the teaching faculty and enquired about the facilities being provided to students. He expressed grave concern over the lack of basic amenities and the deplorable condition of these educational institutions.
The senior BJP leader lamented the appalling state of the Government Girls High School, Gole Gujral, terming it “a glaring example of negligence and apathy by the authorities concerned.” He pointed out issues such as inadequate classrooms, unhygienic conditions of washrooms, and the absence of basic facilities. “It is unacceptable that in an era when the Modi Government is emphasizing quality education and creating world-class infrastructure, our government schools are being left to deteriorate like this,” he said.
Gupta further said that while the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been making concerted efforts to uplift the standards of education in the government sector, the lackadaisical attitude of officials sitting at the helm is undermining these initiatives.
“The indifference and inefficiency of certain officers have turned these schools into mere structures, failing to provide even the most fundamental amenities for students and teachers,” he said.
Arvind Gupta demanded immediate action to address these pressing issues and warned of action if the situation is not rectified at the earliest. He asked the Education Department to take cognizance of the matter and ensure that all government schools in West constituency are equipped with adequate facilities to provide students with a dignified and conducive learning environment.

Arvind assured the people of Jammu West that he would escalate the matter to higher authorities to ensure that the promises of the Central Government in improving education standards reach every corner of Jammu West. “Our children deserve better, and we will not rest until they get it,” he added.

The visit was accompanied by Dharmveer Singh Jamwal, former Deputy Mayor, Keshav Chopra, Mandal President, Pritpal Singh, former Sarpanch, Chaman Lal Bhagat, and Kuldeep Singh, former Naib Sarpanch.
