DDC Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony on Monday appealed to the Advisor B.A Khan to improve power scenario in the border belt by augmenting the transformers which are much below the capacity as the people in these areas are confronting frequent power outages due worn-out infrastructure.
The DDC Member said this while interacting with the people of Beaspur, Parlaah and Satraiyan villages of Suchetgarh Constituency as he visited these hamlets to have first-hand knowledge about the problems of the people.
Responding to various demands of the people, the DDC member said that he will not leave any stone unturned to accomplish the works which are necessary for the convenience of the people. He categorically pointed out that being a public representative, the onus of working for the people while remaining with them at all times lies on his shoulders and he will take every possible step to fulfill all the promises which he had made with the people during poll campaigning.
After considering the demand made by the people of Beaspur for upgrading JKPDC distribution lines, Tony asked the concerned JE of the department to immediately replace all the faulty cables and ensure equal distribution of load in the village.
Looking into the long pending demand of the people to resolve the water crisis, the DDC member also directed PHE officials to install a public water point in the Parlaah area. Thereafter, he held public meetings in Ward No 8 Satraiyan and Khalki Satraiyan. He also held a whirlwind tour of the village and met several prominent people to have an idea of the ground situation with regard to civic facilities and other issues.
The residents rued the dismal condition of lanes and drains as the same were filled with sludge and filth emanating a horrible smell. Looking into the dilapidated condition of the aforesaid infrastructure, Tony directed officials of the RDD to come out with DPR and start the work on lanes and drains soon after the culmination of the rainy season. He also assured that the lane between Mandir and community Satriyan will be blacktopped soon after the rainy season.
Similarly, people of Ward No 8 demanded 100 KVA transformer and replacement of worn-out power cables and up-gradation of existing 100 KVA transformer to 250 KVA.
Upon this, T S Tony assured that all the genuine demands will be fulfilled as early as possible. He said that the residents can approach him any time for any kind of issue which is under his ambit. He said that his sole aim is to render selfless service to the people that too without self-aggrandizing and he will continue to do the same for uplifting the living conditions of the people of the area. He alleged that the BJP representatives who have lost elections and support of the people are now hell bent upon to create hurdles in the developmental activities in the area through their workers. He alleged that neither they developed the area and nor they allow anybody else to bring development, thus creating hurdles in the working of DDC member who are working day and night for the overall development of the border town.
