POONCH, Apr 25:
Makhdomi Club won the inaugural match of the Poonch Volleyball League,organised by the Shaheed Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Club at Sports Stadium, here today.
In the opening match, Makhdomi Club trounced Shaheed Poonch Volleyball Club in straight sets of 29-19, 25-15, 25-21. The technical penal comprised Ramiz Tariq, Sunjay Kumar and Davinder Singh.
Earlier, the event was declared open by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Mohd Aijaz, who amidst interaction with the participating teams and the organisers, appreciated the role of Shaheed Manjit Club in promoting the game of volleyball in the border district of Poonch.
Among others present were Chairman of the Shaheed Manjit Club, Mohd Tariq, Pardeep Khanna, Imtaiz salaria, Nirdosh Kumar Sharma (Manager Sports Stadium) and Anwar ul Haq (ASP).
