As a part of membership drive at the national level initiated with PM Narendra Modi, BJP membership drive was organized today in Jasrota constituency under the leadership of former BJP MP Shamsher Singh Manhas in presence of BJP MLA Jarota Rajiv Jasrotia. Launching membership drive in Jasrota constituency , Manhas said that nationwide primary membership drive was delayed in the Union Territory due to the recently concluded Assembly elections.
He said party believes and practises the true spirit of the temple of democracy both internally and in the nation as a whole. Taking a dig at the Opposition parties, Manhas said other parties are often dominated by nepotism where the entire organisation is controlled by a single family.
“Now, BJP has become the world’s largest political party, surpassing China’s Communist Party, which had 10 crore members,” he said. Our target now is to reach the common masses, political workers, supporters, and sympathisers, enabling us to connect more effectively with people’s issues, he said. In 2014, BJP achieved a target of more than 6 lakh members.
In 2019, it was 16.67 lakh, making history in J&K by securing maximum votes in Assembly elections.“This very membership drive isn’t just a ritual. It’s an expansion of our family.It isn’t a game of numbers. It doesn’t matter the numbers we achieve. This membership drive is an ideological and emotional movement,” he added.
From Bharatiya Jana Sangh till now, we have made all possible efforts to bring a new political culture in the country. The organisation or political party through which people give power, that unit, that organisation, that party if it doesn’t follow democratic values, if internal democracy doesn’t live in it, then a situation arises that is faced by several other political parties today,” Manhas said.He recalled his early days into the party and said that he painted Lotus, BJP’s election symbol, on the walls and always had faith that Lotus would bloom in people’s hearts.
Jasrotia speaking on the occasion said that BJP is the only political party that is following the democratic process properly. He said the BJP is also expanding its work and strives to improve to live up to the expectations of the people.“Several generations have invested their lives into this party, and then today the party has made its place in the hearts of the people,” he added.
He further said that the poor people of the country have the greatest faith in the results of our policies, decisions, and the paths the government has adopted.
Therefore, we have to move forward with that strength. I am confident that this membership campaign will break all old records,” he added.Jasrotia urged BJP members to make border villages a stronghold of the party. He said that the BJP is not only the biggest party of the world but is also a unique party. No other party conducts its membership drive with such transparency and honesty as the BJP,” he said.
He said the BJP stands out as the most credible political party in the world.“Modiji has made sure that even if we dream big, our promises to people must always remain in alignment with what we are capable of delivering. We must be able to translate our promises into actions. This is why the BJP stands out as the most credible political party in the world. We don’t do politics for the sake of forming government, but to form an empowered society,” he said.
