samba, Aug, 25:
Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh has criticized the Municipal Committee for dumping garbage and waste material near a Schedule Tribe Basti in Nanke Chak area of Samba District which can be hazardous for health.
The Former Minister Manjit Singh along with Schedule Tribe President Saleem Choudhary visited Nanke Chak and met the Tribal Community.
During their interaction, the people complained to them about the stinking smell emanating from the nearby garbage dump laid by the Municipal Committee. “It attracts wild animals and dogs. The garbage is spread all over the area and it has caused health related issues for the tribal population in the village,” the locals complained to the Apni Party, Provincial President, Jammu.
After hearing them patiently, Manjit Singh raised the issue with the Deputy Commissioner, Samba and assured the people that they will resolve their issue.
Manjit Singh said that the Municipal Committee should dump the waste material and garbage in an unpopulated area so that people do not get affected by the foul smell.
He said that “The waste material or polythene is not being recycled and the garbage is dumped in open areas and it has become a problem for the people living nearby.”
He said that the Municipal Committee should find an alternative place and avoid dumping garbage along the residential area.
