Minister for Health and Medical Education, Devinder Kumar Manyal, today visited G.B Pant Children Hospital, Srinagar.
Member Legislative Council Vikram Randhawa also accompanied the Minister.
Director General Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Saleem Ur Rehman, Principal/Dean, GMC, Srinagar, Prof. Samia Rashid, Mission Director, NHM, Dr. Yesh Paul Sharma, H.O.D, Pediatrics, G.B. Pant Hospital, Srinagar and Medical Superintendent were also present on the occasion.
The Minister took extensive stock of the facilities being provided in the hospital and also visited the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, besides other wards, especially Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre, District Early Intervention Centre and interacted with the patients and their attendants.
He lauded the efforts of the Medical Superintendent and Head of Department Pediatrics vis-à-vis providing better patient care services in the hospital and also expressed satisfaction with the sanitation facilities at the hospital.
The Minister said a comprehensive plan is afoot to equip hospitals with the latest equipment and upgrade infrastructure in all health institutions.
He also appreciated the role of Mission Director, NHM, for timely financial support with regard to the implementation of NHM schemes like free investigations, medications, transportation and other facilities to the patients’ up to the age of one year.
