Mayor and his team kick starts development works in wars No. 20

Continuing his drive to provide better development and civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation in presence of Sh Vikram Randhawa Ex- MLC, Sh. Rahul Kumar Councilor of ward no.20 today on 11/01/2020 kick started the construction/renovation work of drains at B/D Block near Green Belt park Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Sardar Satvir Singh ward president, Sh. Rachit Khosla Gandhi Nagar Mandal Secretary, Sh. Sandeep kumar, District Executive member, Sh. Rajesh khullar, Sh. Vijay Verma, Sh Vishal Gupta, Sh. Jeevan Gupta, Sh. Ashok Chopra, Sh. Suresh Gupta & other prominent inhabitants of the ward, concerned contractor as well as other field staff of Engineering & health section of JMC were also remained present there. Speaking on this occasion, Mayor told that it was the long pending demands of the locals as this drain has been completely damaged and dirty water always remains stagnate creating unhygienic conditions in the whole locality and due to continuous efforts of the Hon’ble councilor of the ward, the construction of the drain has been started today with an estimate cost of Rs 5.50 lacs only.
He directed the engineering wing as well concerned contractor to complete this development work within the stipulated time period & by applying best quality construction material for its long durability and upto the satisfaction of the locals and said that after its completion they will get rid of this unhygienic condition prevailing in their locality due to dilapidated condition of the drain. Locals also putforth various other demands such as installation of High Mast lights and LED street lights in the remaining areas of the ward as well as rectification /repairing of defunct street lights, construction/renovation of left over drains, lifting of stray dogs /animals from their localities, engagement of more SKC‘s in place of retired / deceased ones etc. Mayor gave them patience hearing and assured that all their genuine demands will be taken up on top priority basis and also appeal to the general public to come forward and cooperate with JMC and various other allied agencies in all the development activities being undertaken by them, do not throw garbage, waste materials in the open, avoid using single used plastics/ polythenes, adopt the habit of segregation of dry /wet waste at their own level, donot encroach public drains/nallahs, plant more and more saplings in and around their surroundings so that Jammu can be made neat, clean, green city & really a smart city.
