Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation added another compliment to the Jammu City by presenting Detail Project Report for abating Pollution in Tawi River due to falling of 13 numbers of major nallahas on its right bank from Dhountly Panjtirthi to Bhagawati Nagar Gole, Jammu in presence of Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Madam Avny Lavasa Commissioner, JMC. He said that DPR (Detail Project Report) amounting to Rs. 43.49 crore for augmentation the process of Clean Jammu & Green Jammu under this project, the interception and diversion of polluted Sewage Water flowing in these Nallahas on right bank of River Rawi shall be intercepted and diverted to existing Sewage treatment plant at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu during the lean period and no further polythenes garbage, objectionable material shall not be allowed to pollute “Surya Putri River Tawi” after its implementation. The Technical concept of the project was presented by Sh. Rakesh Kumar Gupta Superintending engineer UEED who is pivotal in preparing the DPR alongwith Sh. Rajesh Charangoo Assistant Executive Engineer (Technical) & sh. Ashwani Seth Executive engineer UEED under the guidance of sh. Dheeraj Gupta Principal Secretary to Government Housing & Urban Development Department, Madam Avny Lavasa Commissioner JMC, Sh. Ashwani Anand Chief Engineer UEED.
On this occasion, Mayor JMC assured for augments of funds & its implementation at the earliest by taking the matter with the Administration & His Excellency Lieutenant Governor UT, J&K Sh. Manoj Sinha Ji in making Jammu really a Smart, Eco friendly, pollution free City which is the Dream of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Sh. Narinder Modi Ji. In the meantime BIO remediable of Nallahas falling on both banks of Tawi River passing through Jammu City has already been invited by UEEED, Jammu to stop all kinds of objectionable Material falling in Tawi River where grey Sewage Water shall be treated prior to entering Tawi River.
Mayor further said that the project is a unique one where solid waste as well as Sewerage flow during Lean period (non Mansoon, Non Flood Times) will be cleared by construction of Trash Gates and interception Diversion Structures at outlet which can be monitored with GPS System also.
He said on hs becoming as mayor JMC in the year Oct 2018 he has given a slogan “Green Jammu & Clean Jammu” now he has given another slogan “Badalta Jammu Nikharta Jammu.” And in this behalf he alongwith Deputy Mayor all the Councilors as well as Commissioner, JMC and his team are doing sincere efforts in the every field even during the period of lockdown to make the Jammu City neat, clean and green and trying their best in terms of sanitization, fumigation, spraying to break the chain of deadly Coronavirus pandemic.
