Today JMC Mayor Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta along with Deputy Mayor Smt. Purnima Sharma convened a meeting of Enforcement Inspectors of JMC at Town Hall Jammu which was also attended by Sh. Pardeep Singh Manhas Joint Commissioner (A) Sh. Rajesh Gupta C.E.O. ,Sh. Bharat Bushan STP (JMC) and A.E.O’s Hon’ble Mayor & Deputy Mayor directed the Enforcement wing strictly to work in the field with full dedication & honesty in order to curb the menace of illegal constructions especially commercial in the city as well necessary measures should be taken which includes to simplify the building permission norms, issuing permissions of site plans by holding BOCA meetings on routine basis, also charging building permission fee from Govt. /Semi Govt. establishments so as to increase the revenue of Jammu Municipal Corporation and the process of NOC’s should be shortlisted on the pattern of Srinagar Municipal Corporation. A team of special flying Squad along with police force should be constituted in order to check the violations/illegal constructions in different wards of city.
Earlier, in order to provide best basic amenities to the inhabitants of Jammu City, the Hon’ble Mayor today on 26/04/2019 visited marble market, extension Trikuta Nagar etc. of Ward No.52 along with Hon’ble councilor Sh. Ajay Gupta and Prof Dr. Ravi Jyee Chairman of ACCEDE India and other officers of various wings of Jammu Municipal Corporation. A large number of residents of these localities were present on the spot during the tour and put forth their demands i.e. desilting /renovation of drains & lanes of their locality along with better sanitation, rectification of defunct street lights, lifting of stray dogs/animals, proper fogging & spray, providing more SKC’s as the ward has been largely extended. Hon’ble Mayor assured the inhabitants that their grievances will be sort out on war footing and appeal to them to co-operate with the JMC in making Jammu neat, Clean & Green .
He also visited Bio gas plant in the cattle pound Dogra Hall and appreciated the ongoing work there.
He impressed upon Municipal Veterinary Officer, JMC to open an outlet in JMC office so that people of Jammu can purchase vermi compost from JMC complex at reasonable price. Further directions were issued to install the Unit to prepare wood from cow dung.
MVO, JMC brought in the Notice of Hon’ble Mayor for scarcity of Manpower of cattle catchers as the territory of Jammu Municipal Corporation has been increased to the surroundings. There is dire need to enhance the number of vehicles as one vehicle is not sufficient to carry out daily exercise. Hon’ble Mayor assured to increase the number of man power as well as to visit different cow shelter house to adopt them . He directed Engineering wing to take repair work required in cattle pound.
