Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta on Tuesday visited Ward No 12, and took stock of the problems being faced by the residents of the area. He also visited Guru Ravi Dass Sabha and reviewed ongoing developmental works there. On this occasion, Corporator of the ward Jeet Angral was also present besides JMC STAFF was also present which was on the spot directed by Mayor to take care of public grievances in the area on priority. During his tour, he was accompanied by the officials of planning, sanitation and other concerned departments, he on the spot directed them to construct lanes and drains, and especially direct the sanitation team to work regularly with full dedication and honesty. Angral apprised Gupta about the problems being faced which includes sanitation and cleanliness, installation or repair of street lights and problems related to water and roads, lanes and drains, dumping points and numerous others.
Speaking on the occasion, Chander Mohan Gupta expressed his full faith in the leadership of newly elected Corporators and said that they will prove to be an asset of the Corporation and hoped that Jammu will become a smart city soon.Gupta added that we will bring transparency in all the departments under Jammu Municipal Corporation by making all the departments functioned online with the vision of Digital India.
The Mayor also met with the residents of these localities & listened to their grievances regarding, construction /renovation of drains/lanes, improvement of sanitation, non functioning of street lights, renovation of parks, menace of stray dogs/animals. He directed the concerned officers on spot to resolve the grievances of people at the earliest and asked the residents to cooperate with Municipal staff and do not throw their house hold garbage on the public lanes /drains in the open area and in the parks which further worsened the sanitation conditions. The Mayor also appealed to the shopkeepers of the areas not to display their belongings outside their shops to avoid traffic congestion and make the Jammu city neat, clean & green.
