Farmer Club meet with experts programme was today held at village Kursari by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Doda, under the guidance of Directorate of Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu in collaboration with NABARD.
The programme was attended by the scientists from KVK Doda, District Development Manager NABARD Doda and volunteers of the KVK Farmer Club Kursari.
During the programme, Dr Narinder Paul Scientist KVK Doda educated the farmer club members about group approach to the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants and scientific management of major agricultural crops.
Dr AS Charak briefed about post harvest management and storage of maize and paddy.
Dr GN Jha apprised the participants about small scale fish production in poly-lined ponds for income and employment generation. Rajesh Kumar Dutta, DDM NABARD made aware the farmers about different schemes of the NABARD for their welfare and urged them to come forward to avail the benefits of these schemes.
The farmers were also educated about soil health, kissan credit card scheme and Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana by the team.
Abdul Majeed, Surjeet Singh, Charanjeet Singh, Sadakat Hussain, Saddam Hussain Basher Ahmad, Deepak Singh and other members of the club attended the programme which ended with vote of thanks by Mathra Dass Sharma, Chief Volunteer of the Club.
