The Mega Job Fair 2025, a joint initiative by Cluster University of Jammu and Desh Bhagat University, Punjab, concluded successfully at the GCW Gandhi Nagar Campus, reaffirming the institutions’ shared commitment to youth empowerment and employment generation.The event was graced by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, as Chief Guest and who formally handed over offer letters to selected candidates, symbolizing the UT administration’s proactive role in enhancing employment opportunities. Applauding the initiative, he remarked that entrepreneurship is thriving in Jammu and Kathua, and more jobs will be created in the near future. Earlier in the day, Shri Shantmanu, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, inaugurated the Job Fair and interacted with recruiters wherein he termed the fair as a valuable effort in bridging the gap between education and employment. The fair saw an overwhelming response, with over 3700 registrations, and 2100 candidates appearing for interviews conducted by 54 top companies from across India. The valedictory event began with a formal welcome Address by Prof. K.S. Chandraseker, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, who in his address highlighted the university’s focus on enhancing employability. Later Dr. Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University in his address emphasized the importance of collaborative academic-industry initiatives in creating meaningful employment avenues. Prof. D.S. Manhas, Director, Placement Cell, informed that extensive arrangements ensured smooth coordination between employers and job seekers. The event among others was attended by university leadership, including the Registrar, Deans, Principals, Finance Officer, Director IQAC, and the placement team from DBU, reflecting the institutional commitment of both institutions.Dr. Ravika Arora efficiently and in a cohearent way conducted the proceedings of the function where as the function concluded with a for vote of thanks by the Director, Placement Cell Prof. D S Manhas. With this, the Mega Job Fair 2025 stood as a powerful example of academia-industry synergy, driving forward the vision of employability, innovation, and national progress.
