JAMMU, Feb 17:
Former minister and senior BJP leader Bali Bhagat today said that Mehbooba Mufti’s love for Pakistan is for everyone to see and it is high time that the Government of India should deport the PDP chief to the enemy nation.
Taking strong objection to the former Chief Minister’s remarks on the Centre’s decision to abrogate Article 370, Bhagat said that it is unfortunate that Mehbooba Mufti is questioning the temple of democracy and calling it as illegal.
In a statement issued here, the former minister said that the major issues of Jammu and Kashmir ended with the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A, and there is no such issue as ‘Kashmir issue’ which Mehbooba Mufti claims.
Reacting to Mehbooba’s statement in a function the previous day in which she said dialogue with Pakistan is the only way to resolve Kashmir issue, Bhagat said there is no issue in Jammu and Kashmir that involves any other country.
“Pakistan has absolutely nothing to do with us. It is beyond understanding how Mehbooba Mufti continues to harp on this agenda in this age and day. But I do understand Mehbooba’s love for raking up Pakistan in everything she speaks. Maybe it is time that she is deported to Pakistan for good,” he said, taking a jibe at Mehbooba. “Pakistan is an enemy nation and we need not talk to the enemy. Mehbooba must stop this talk of dialogue with Pakistan. And if she cannot, I think she should move to Pakistan and build a house there only,” he added.
Bhagat castigated Mehbooba for her statement that on August 5, 2019, the rights of people of J&K were taken away “illegally and unconstitutionally”. “What does she even mean with this? Is she saying that the Parliament of India, or the bills passed by it are illegal or unconstitutional? This is nonsense,” he said.
Reminding Mehbooba that J&K was and will remain integral to India, Bhagat said that she should have learnt about the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, while it was still valid. “It is a shame that Mehbooba has no knowledge about the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir in the name of which she swore on, while taking oath as chief minister. Article 3 of the Part-II of the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir had said that Jammu and Kashmir is and shall be the integral part of India,” he added.
Bhagat said that the likes of Mufti are conspiring to “bleed Kashmir’ once again but nobody will be allowed to do that again.
