The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rain, snow in the next three days over Jammu and Kashmir.Jammu travel guide
The MeT forecast isolated light rain over Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
“Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rain and snow with isolated heavy rain and snow during February 25 to 28 over Jammu and Kashmir,” the MeT office said.
The weather office has also issued an advisory stating that there is a possibility of temporary disruption of Surface transportation mainly over Sadhna pass, Razdan Pass, Sonamarg-Zojila-Gumri axis, Mughal Road, Sinthan pass & other major roads of hilly districts.
“Tourists/travellers/transporters are advised to plan their trips accordingly and follow Admin/Traffic advisory,” the advisory reads.
It has also advised farmers to suspend irrigation and other farm operations during the period.
The night temperature slightly improved but stayed below freezing point at most weather stations in the Kashmir Valley.
The minimum temperature recorded during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday at Srinagar was sub-zero, at the ski resort of Gulmarg -4.0°C, tourist destination of Pahalgam -3.2°C and Qazigund -1.0°C.
The day temperature witnessed an uptick trend by 4 to 6°C across Kashmir Valley on Sunday, with Srinagar recording a maximum of 16.6°C and Kupwara 16.6°C, which was the highest among other stations.
Similarly, the day temperature has increased by 2 to 4°C in the Jammu division, with Kathua at 24.6°C and Jammu at 24.2°C, the MeT office said.
