There were jubilations amongst Congress leaders and workers over joining of active politics by Priyanka Gandhi and her induction in the Congress as National General Secretary.
A large number of Congress leaders and workers including various frontal units and cells assembled at outside Congress HQ Shahidi Chowk raising slogans in favour of Priyanka Gandhi and congress leaders amidst beating of drums and bursting of crackers.
PCC Chief Shri Ghulam Ahmed Mir himself led the senior leaders and workers in these celebrations.
The congress workers including Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, INTUC, Seva Dal and NSUI distributed sweets and danced to welcome the decision of congress leadership and Priyanka Gandhi.
Addressing workers PCC Chief hailed the decision of Congress President Rahul Gandhi to induct Smt. Priyanka Gandhi as General Secretary AICC, which was long drawn desire of Congress cadres and general public in the County.
He also expressed gratitude to Smt. Gandhi for joining active politics and leading the countrymen, especially women and youth to the new vision of progress.
He conveyed gratitude, happiness and joy of entire rank and file of the party in the state to the party high command.
Shri Mir has said that joining of active politics by Smt. Priyanka Gandhi and her induction as AICC General Secretary, will prove to be turning point in the politics of the Country and Congress will emerge stronger throughout and stage come back at the Centre and various parts of the Country. The people in general and women and youth have great hopes from the leadership of Shri Rahul Gandhi and Priynka Gandhi, he said.
