In a significant move aimed at bolstering agricultural productivity and ensuring efficient water management, Dr. Rajeev, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bishnah, recently conducted a thorough inspection of the desalting work being carried out on the D9 canal and its associated minors.
The inspection, conducted in collaboration with the Engineering Wing of the Irrigation Department, covered key areas within the Bishnah Constituency, including Natral, Chakra, Khairi, Shibu Chak minor, and Prithvipur minor. The D9 canal is a vital lifeline for the region’s agricultural community, and its proper maintenance is crucial for the sustenance of crops and the overall economic well-being of the area.
Desalting, the process of removing accumulated sediment from canals, is essential to maintain optimal water flow and prevent blockages that can lead to water shortages and crop damage.
