Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Sarore, today celebrated its Annual Day-cum-Felicitation Ceremony with great zeal and splendor. The event, which recognized the outstanding achievements of its students and faculty, was graced by a host of esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, MLA Bishnah, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bhagat.
He was joined by Chief Education Officer Jammu Sh. Ajit Sharma, DEPO Sh. Bhagwan Dass Sharma, ZEO Bishnah Sh. Amarjeet Singh, SHO Bishnah Sh. Rakesh Jamwal, and Sarpanch Sarore Sh. Vinod Charak. Principal Ms. Rabia Batool warmly welcomed the dignitaries, parents, and students, setting a positive tone for the day’s proceedings.
The highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of meritorious students by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. MLA Dr. Rajeev Bhagat, in particular, lauded the brilliant performance of the Class 10th and 12th students. Ms. Vanshika Saini was singled out for her exceptional achievement, securing 97.2% marks in the Science stream and bagging the 9th position at the Union Territory (UT) Level. Similarly, Areeshma was commended for securing 91% marks in Class 10th.
Dr. Bhagat congratulated the school administration and faculty for achieving a 100% result in Class 10th and for successfully increasing the school’s enrollment from 121 to 185, a testament to the quality education provided. He also facilitated students who have excelled in the field of sports, marking their participation at National and UT levels in disciplines like Taekwondo, Hockey, and Volleyball.
A vibrant and colorful cultural programme, meticulously presented by the students, added a touch of charm and festivity to the event. In an institutional milestone, the maiden Rolling Trophy for Inter-House Activities was proudly won by the Well-Being House.
