MLA Marh Assembly Constituency, Surinder Kumar today held an important meeting with agriculture officials in the region. The primary objective of the meeting was to ensure timely supply of seeds for the upcoming paddy sowing season, enabling farmers to commence agricultural activities without any hindrances. During the meeting, various government schemes were reviewed with a focus on farmers’ interests.
The effective implementation of these schemes was thoroughly discussed to ensure that farmers receive timely benefits.
MLA Surinder Kumar emphasized, “Our commitment is to ensure that every farmer receives accurate information and resources on time, making farming profitable and empowering farmers. The prosperity of farmers is our top priority.”
MLA urged officials to ensure timely seed supply for paddy sowing season while reviewing schemes for effective implementation, prioritizing farmers’ prosperity and empowerment. Agriculture department officials and block-level employees attended the meeting.
The meeting demonstrated the government’s commitment to supporting farmers and ensuring their welfare. By prioritizing farmers’ needs and providing timely resources, the government aims to make farming a profitable and sustainable venture. MLA Surinder observed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has indeed shown commitment to farmers’ welfare through various schemes and incentives by providing financial assistance of ?6,000 per year to small and marginal farmers, with plans to expand coverage to all farmers regardless of land ownership. Through PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras, dedicated centers for farmers have been established to access seeds, fertilizers, equipment, and soil testing facilities, promoting modern farming practices.
Digital Agriculture Mission aims to bring new knowledge and technology to farmers’ mobile phones, enhancing their productivity and income.
MLA further said that Crop Science for Food and Nutritional Security aims to prepare farmers for climate resilience and ensure food security by 2047 through research, education, and genetic improvement. Sustainable Livestock Health and Production seeks to increase farmers’ income from livestock and dairy, improving their overall well-being.Pension Scheme for farmers provides a minimum pension of ?3,000 per month to small and marginal farmers after the age of 60 besides increases in MSP for food grains and other agricultural products to benefit farmers.
The government’s efforts are focused on transforming the lives of farmers, making farming profitable, and ensuring their prosperity. With initiatives like these, PM Modi’s government aims to bring smiles and prosperity to farmers’ lives ,added MLA.
