MLC Vikram Randhawa launched the ‘Save Tree, Save Life’ campaign poster of Sampark Economical Development Society here today.
The poster was launched by NGO to generate awareness among the common masses about saving the nature campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLC emphasized on contributing back to the environment for the climate change by planting more tree to achieve better results in shaping up the environment into a much better living space.
He said change in climate, loss of biodiversity and depletion of natural resources have become serious challenge for modern civilization, because such changes are going to have long lasting effects on the future generation.
Need more such organizations to come forward and organize the environmental friendly campaigns for developing in and around areas of the localities with green cover by safeguarding the trees for healthy environment, the MLC said, adding that,’it is the duty of each person to save green spcases in their areas.
Randhawa appreciated the effort of Society and said that Sampark Economical Development Society for spreading awareness among the masses on the crucial environmental as well as social issue.
President, Sampark Economical Development Society, Nisha Verma informed the MLC about the activities being carried out by the NGO in connection with ‘Save Tree, Save Life’ campaign.
She further informed that the organization has been working in the field of socio economic development to give benefit to the SC/ST, weaker section of the society, poor masses especially women, Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribes.
This organization has conducted Educational /Training Programmes, Seminars /Awareness Camps (National Integration, Anti drugs, Population control, Save Girl Child Campaign, Aids Programme, Sports programme ,Child & Women health care etc.) throughout the remote/Border Areas of Jammu and Kashmir State, she added. Others Who were present on the occasion Shifali Sharma (Secretary),Chander Kant Langeh(Treasurer), Shivali Vaid(Executive Member) and B.R Radhay.
