Bali Bhagat, former Minister and senior BJP leader said that the Saffron Party is fighting with the 70 years of discrimination with Jammu by Kashmiri centric leadership. He said that the mainstream political parties have always played divisive politics in J&K and choosen Kashmir division over Jammu hence deprived the people of winter capital from time to time of their due rights.
“All the major projects and developmental setups were diverted towards the Kashmir division by the successive politicians and had taken Jammu division for granted,” Bali said and added that even majority of the projects including the projects in Healthcare, tourism and allied sectors were diverted to Kashmir.
The former minister said while addressing a series of DDC poll meetings at villages NS Pura, Baila Jamna and Ward. No 5 of Pargawal area of Akhnoor Constituency.
“Kashmir has always been a soft spot for all these political parties in successive regimes. Majority of the developmental which should have been in Jammu by 1990’s and 2000’s are still missing but in Kashmir these projects were executed and completed within stipulated timeframe,” Bali asserted and added that BJP has ended the discrimination with Jammu division and done justice with the people of historic Dogra state.
“BJP has brought in multiple projects in Jammu division with fair share between the two divisions of J&K including sanctioned 2 1/2 km long bridge from Indripattan to Pargawal, Four Lanning of Jammu Akhnoor Poonch Road, Major Projects in GMC Jammu like Ayurvedic Medical College, increased medical seats to 63 Students/per year, 300 bedded Bone and Joint Hospital Jammu, New maternity Block in SMGS-275 bedded, 100 Bedded additional emergency Block, funds sanctioned for State Cancer Institute at SSH, BSc Nursing College at Gangyal, Eye Bank at GMC Jammu, Kidney Transplant Centre, Upgradation of Chopra Nursing Home, New Hostel Blocks for Boys and Girls at GMC, main entry gates for Medical College and CD Hospitals, Color coding of bed sheets and medicines throughout J&K implemented, Territory cancer institutions sanctioned for Kishtwar, Udhampur and Kupwara, Ayush Hospital at Kishtwar, Nursing College at Kishtwar, 100 bedded SDH at Bhalwal, SDH Padder alongwith posts sanctioned, Mishriwala Degree College, IIM & IIT sanctioned for Jammu division besides two AIIMS & five new medical colleges sanctioned in J&K,” the former Health Minister highlighted.
“State Assistance for Marriage Scheme (SAMS) and Ladli Beti Scheme besides old age, disabled pensions were also raised from Rs 200 & Rs 300 to Rs 1000 during his tenure as Social Welfare Minister,” Bali asserted and said that BJP is the only party which has eradicated the division favoritism.
Bali said that under the able leadership of PM Modi, BJP will make Jammu division to achieve new developmental heights and BJP’s unbiased UT leadership will do justice with the people of Jammu where they were denied the same for decades and forced to hit streets and hold protests for their rights.
