JAMMU, MAY 15:
Reminding PM Modi of his directive in Nov 2016 calling upon the BJP Ministers, MPs and MLAs for submission of their Bank Accounts to Amit Shah as a measure of Accountability and transparency, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Former Minister today said that people of the country wanted to know as to what action had been initiated in pursuance of the said disclosures made by BJP leaders with regard to their assets. He said that the people were curious to know whether it was yet another “Chunavi Jumla” or an attempt to divert the attention of the public from burning issues facing the economy. He said that in case there was any seriousness in the PM’s directive, the BJP needed to come out with the names of BJP leaders charge-sheeted for dis-proportionate assets or money laundering after such disclosures or atleast a statement that none of the BJP Ministers, MPs or MLAs was found to be in possession of black money or illegal cash. He further said that it was expected of the PM that he would not only expose and punish such leaders but also direct them to put their banks accounts and property details in public domain as a measure of transparency. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today. Describing PM Modi’s Nov 2016 directive as an eye wash and window-dressing for the gullible, Mr. Singh said that even J&K had several BJP Ministers MPs and MLAs who were accused of real estate scams, disproportionate assets and money laundering with the central and state unit of BJP failing to give any convincing clarification despite public outrage. Ridiculing Modi’s directive for submission of property statements from his party leaders as a political stunt, Mr. Singh said that it only revealed his penchant and obsession for publicity splurge. Seeking a deep surgery of the allegations of corruption against BJP leaders, Mr. Singh said that such tantrums of submission of Bank A/Cs amid petulant fits of passion would only evoke cynicism rather than appreciation. He said that instead of making vague statements for media consumption, Mr. Modi should order a probe into all assets and property accumulated by such leaders during the last around 3 years.
He further called for high level probe into the widely reported traumatic phase of scams in J&K by proper investigations against the accused BJP Ministers, MP and MLAs.
Gagan Partap Singh State Secretary JKNPP, Mr. Parshotam Parihar State Secretary Panthers Trade Union, Mr. Shanker Singh Chib State Secretary, Mr. K.K Sharma Provincial Secretary, Partap Singh Youth Vice President, Anil Rackwal and Ravinder Jamwal were also present in the press conference.
