Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West, met with a delegation from the Mohalla Welfare Committee, Gole Panjpeer, Ward No. 32, to address several pressing issues raised by the residents of the area.
The delegation, led by Jyoti Prakash Narwaliya, presented a memorandum highlighting the urgent need for infrastructural and civic improvements in the locality. The issues ranged from educational needs to essential civic amenities, reflecting the genuine concerns of the residents.
During the interaction, the delegation emphasized the importance of upgrading the Government High School in Gole Panjpeer to a Higher Secondary School with Medical, Non-Medical, Arts, and Commerce streams to cater to the increasing number of students. They also stressed the urgent need to pave the 100-meter road near Panjpeer Dargah, which has remained unconstructed for years, causing significant inconvenience to the residents. The poor condition of the drainage system in the area was another critical issue raised, with a demand for repairs and clearance of blockages to ensure smooth water flow.
The delegation also requested the establishment of a children’s park in Gole Panjpeer to provide a recreational space for children and senior citizens alike. Additionally, they pointed out the deteriorated state of the streets, calling for the replacement of broken tiles to improve pedestrian safety and aesthetics. The need for a high-wattage transformer to address frequent power outages and the development of the existing water well, along with a public bathroom, were also highlighted.

He stated that the development of Gole Panjpeer remains a priority and directed his office to coordinate with the relevant departments to initiate action on the issues raised.
