Anupam Kher on Thursday took to Twitter and shared a few stills from his upcoming film, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, based on the book by Sanjaya Baru of the same name. The film, which features Kher in the lead role, traces the making and unmaking of the former Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh.
The actor’s tweet read, “Happy to share my first look of #DrManmohanSingh, India’s Former Prime Minister from the movie #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister directed by #VijayRatnakarGutte & produced by #BohraBrothers. Creative producer is @mehtahansal. Film is based on #SanjayBaru’s book with the same title. ??”
Ever since the first poster of the movie released a few months ago, the striking resemblance between the veteran actor and the former PM has become a talking point and these new stills just prove them right.
Directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, along with Hansal Mehta as the creative producer, the film also features Akshaye Khanna in a pivotal role.
Ankita Lokhande is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. She is essaying the role of Jhalkari Bai who was a close guard to Rani Laxmibai. Recently, at an event, she apparently revealed the release date of historical drama.
According to reports, Ankita revealed at a media interaction that the Krish directorial will release on August 3rd and that people can see her work on that day. She also added that she is equally excited to catch the film and hopes that there won’t be further changes in the date. ‘Manikarnika’ was initially supposed to release on April 27th but was then pushed back to an undisclosed date. An official confirmation is awaited from the makers to see if the date revealed by Ankita is the correct one.
After biopic on cricketers MS Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin, Bollywood is all geared up for Kapil Dev’s life story in Kabir Khan’s ‘’83’ starring Ranveer Singh. Meanwhile, there is one more whose life story would make for a great biopic and he is none other than Virat Kohli.
When asked about it at a recent event, Virat reportedly said that he doesn’t think there would be a biopic made on him. He just thinks it would be just a real account of what his life has been like.
Speaking about his choice of actors to play the role, he added that although there are many talented actors out there, he reportedly feels that his biopic is not on the cards now and that new talented actors will come along and that he might fit the role perfectly. But that is still very far away.Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’. According to a report, the actor has allegedly given his nod for Rakesh Sharma’s biopic ‘Salute’. After few meetings with the makers, SRK has given his dates for the film, which will reportedly go on floors in September.
The report further states that the star will wrap up the shoot of ‘Zero’ by the end of April, after which he will begin prep for the film for about three months to get into the skin of the character. The actor and his team will do a research and study nuances to perfect his role as an astronaut.
Shah Rukh will reportedly be filming from September to November and take a break for the promotions of ‘Zero’ in December. He will resume the shoot in January 2019.
