Hon’bl Member of Parliament, Sh.Shamsher Singh Manhas felicitated International Relations Expert and Media Activist Dr.Varun Suthra on being appointed as Founding Secretary of Democracy Without Borders, DWB. Felicitation event was held by India Human Rights Commission (IHRC) and AIACO a Delhi based NGO through Dr.Abhishek Magotra, MD, J&K Coordinator and presently working as Assistant professor (JIAR). It’s a matter of pride for Jammu as Dr.Suthra hails from Jammu and becomes first from India to hold this position.
Hon’bl MP expressed his best wishes and stressed upon need of such global initiatives for world peace.
Speaking on the occasion he said, ” India has always believed and practiced “Vasudev Kutumbakam” and stressed upon global cooperation in strengthening peace and development. DWB initiative is appreciable and a team of 23 MPs from Europe were about to visit India this year which is now deferred to next year due to COVID19 situation. My best wishes are with Dr.Suthra for his achievements and being a member of External Affairs Committee, I would also share this with the committee.
It’s a matter of pride also from Jammu that one of our youth attains such a position.”
He further added that Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi has empowered the Foreign Missions of India and stressed upon the Ambassadors to reach out to the respective nations with India’s mission of global peace and friendship
Dr.Suthra also presented DWB mission statement to the Hon’bl MP and thanked Dr Rajesh Jain National President IHRC and AIACO.
