Actress-dancer Mukti Mohan, known for her roles in Life Hill Gayi, Gyaarah Gyaarah, Thar, and A Wedding Story, shares that Diwali holds a special meaning for her beyond just dressing up and decorating. “For me, it’s about reconnecting with family, celebrating gratitude, and spreading joy. Every diya reminds me of how blessed I am to have love, health, and my family around,” she says. This year, Mukti plans to spend a cozy Diwali with family, engaging in simple traditions like making rangolis, decorating with fairy lights, and, of course, dancing. She also urges people to avoid crackers. “The joy doesn’t come from crackers. There’s enough light in the diyas and enough celebration in being together without harming the environment.”On the festive wardrobe front, Mukti shares her love for traditional attire. “Wearing a saree or lehenga makes me feel connected to the traditions I grew up with.”As for her sweet tooth, Mukti admits, “I have a soft spot for kaju katli and motichoor laddoos! Diwali isn’t complete without homemade treats.” “It’s a memory that always makes me smile.”
